Marion Township is located South of the City of Howell and North of Pinckney. Marion is approximately 36 square miles and has several small lakes and ponds. To access Marion Twp by expressway, drivers would take the D-19 Michigan Avenue exit off I-96 and head South. The Township office is located West of D-19 on Coon Lake Road.  Marion residents enjoy rural living with easy access to goods and services in Howell, Genoa, Brighton and Pinckney. Marion Township’s infrastructure includes a new state-of-the-art wastewater treatment plant, and public water is supplied through the Marion, Howell, Oceola, Genoa Water Authority (MHOG).  A master plan for sewer and water has been formulated by the Township as a tool for future growth. Properties not on public sewer and water are serviced by private septic and wells.
